Houston Ellis

Houston Ellis, age 90 of 18359 Hwy 72 East died Friday, October 21, 2011.
He was born in Greenville, SC and was a son of the late William Edward and Mary Brown Whitmire Ellis and the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Mr. Ellis retired from Clinton Mills, Lydia Plant was a member and Sunday School teacher at Bellview Baptist Church. He was a US Army veteran of WWII and member of Gideon’s International.
Surviving are his wife, Betty Ellis of the home; one son, Andy Ellis and wife, Jacki of Clinton; one daughter, Judy Sanders and husband, Jimmy of Clinton; one stepson, Albert P. Brown of Joanna and a stepdaughter, Sue Whitmire and husband, Fredrick of Gray Court; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Mr. Ellis was predeceased by his first wife, Eileen Brazil Ellis.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Oct. 23rd at 3:30 p.m. at the Bellview Baptist Church with burial and military honors in the Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon at the church from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m..
The family will be at the home of his son, Andy Ellis, 606 S. Broad St., Clinton, SC.
