Irene King Davis, age 88, widow of Rev. L. Jack Davis, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 at the NHC of Clinton.
She was born on April 16th, 1929 in Maddison, GA and was a daughter of the late Oscar P. and Odie Mae King.
For most of her life she shared and partnered in her husband’s Christian ministry to others. She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and compassionate caregiver to her husband, but also as an avid gardener, industrious homemaker and faithful and caring friend. She was a member of the Bellview Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Tommy Davis (Carol) of Aiken, SC; two daughters, Joy Deitz (Joe) of Clinton, Shirley Walker (David) of Clinton; a brother, Oscar P. King of Honea Path; sisters, Dorothy Lewis of Anderson, Pearl Ashley of Honea Path, Jevoniah Owens of Anderson, Avalene Ashley of Honea Path, Linda Horne of Gastonia, NC; eight grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was predeceased by a brother, Charles King, and sisters, Rhetha Evans, Vinnie Ashley, Monnie Chapman and Becky Lynch.
Graveside service will be conducted Tuesday, March 20th at 2:00 P.M. at the Garden of Memories in Belton, SC. The family will receive friends following the service at the gravesite.
