Jack Penland, age 73, of 3806 Torrington Road, passed away Friday, July 31, 2015, at his home.
He was born in Laurens and was a son of the late George M. and Elizabeth Anderson Penland.
Everyone that knew Jack, knew his life’s love was his cattle and farming, and he enjoyed his time with his friends at Wilson’s almost as much. He was a member of Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church. Jack will be forever known as a giving and gentle man.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn B. Penland; his brother, Stanley Penland (Debra Parsons); and his sister, Reba Vincent (Tony) all of Laurens.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Wayne Penland.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 3, 2015, at 4:00 PM, at Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Monday following the service in the church fellowship hall.
