Jack L. Word Jr., age 60, of 100 Countryside Circle, passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his home.
He was born in Laurens and was a son of the late Jack L. Word Sr., and the late Juanita Leopard Finley.
Mr. Word was formerly employed with BMW, J.P. Stevens Watts Plant. He was also a former member of the District 55 and 56 Rescue Squad, Woodman of the World, and was a well known local sign painter.
He is survived by his son Jason Word, of Myrtle Beach; a daughter, Tracy Guiterrez, of Clinton; and their mother, Ann L. Smiley, of Gaffney; his sister, Helen McNuer, of Gray Court; nieces and nephews, Rhonda and Russ Hunt, of Laurens, Brian and Tracey McNuer, of Laurens, and Donnette and Rodney Brown, of Clinton; and six grandchildren, Jordan Tucker, Jacob Word, Jalyn Tucker, Joseph Word, Jonathan Word, and Ema Guiterrez.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 1st, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
The family will be at the home of his daughter, 54 Apple Orchard Drive, Clinton, SC 29325.
