Jackie O. Frazier, age 72, of 3018 Beaverdam Creek Road and formerly of Clinton, SC, passed away Friday, April 4, 2014 at the Greenville Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Whitmire and was a daughter of the late Charles Jackson O’Shields, Sr., and the late Vera Evans O’Shields.
Mrs. Frazier retired from Greenwood Mills Adams Plant, where she was supervisor, in Ninety Six; was a member of Davidson Street Baptist Church and taught literacy at Clinton Mills after her retirement. She enjoyed talking by phone to her circle of friends and family daily. She was known as Nanny by her family and was also known for her wisdom and advice.
She is survived by her husband of fifty-one years on April 6th, Allen M. Frazier of the home; three sons, Allen E. Smith (Brantlee) of Camp LaJune, NC, David E. Cannady of Newberry, and Robert Jackson Brooks Cannady (Jordan) of Prosperity; her daughter Janet Ballentine (Fred) of Newberry; her granddaughter Jackqueline Sims (Garrett) of Newberry; her grandson Wally Ballentine of San Diego, CA; her brother Charles Jackson (Ann) O’Shields, Jr of Chapin; her sister Carolyn McMurray (Skeet) of Whitmire; her dear friend Becky Scott of Joanna; her special aunt, Marion Johnson (Richard) of Wyndam, NY;four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Jimmie Tumblin.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Davidson Street Baptist Church by Rev. Charles J. O’Shields, Jr. and Rev Kenny Moore with burial at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Newberry.
The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
