Jackie Matthews Wasson

Jackie Pauline G. Matthews Wasson of 123 Moreland Ave. passed away Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at the Laurens County Memorial Hospital.
She was born in Saluda, SC and was a daughter of the late C.D. and Lula Mae Shealy Gentry.
Mrs. Wasson was a retired retail sales associate and a member of the Friendship Presbyterian Church in Hickory Tavern.
Surviving are her son, Lewis Wightman Matthews of Laurens, a sister, Willette G. Miller and a sister-in-law, Lorine Gentry both of Saluda.
She was predeceased by husbands, Richard A. Wasson (DOD-1977), L. Wightman Matthews (DOD-1955) and several brothers and sisters.
A committal service will be conducted Friday, April 14th at 10:00 A.M. at the Emory United Methodist Church Cemetery in Saluda.
The family will receive friends Friday from 2:00 to 3:00 P.M. at the Gray Funeral Home of Laurens and a memorial service will be conducted in the funeral home chapel at 3:00 P.M. by Rev. Dr. Robert Cathcart.
In lieu of flowers it is the family’s request that memorials be made to Friendship Presbyterian Church, 2094 Neely Ferry Rd., Laurens, SC 29360.
