James Tallie Crapps

April 10, 1926 — April 3, 2017

James Tallie Crapps, age 90, of 1521 Fairview Church Road, passed away Monday, April 3, 2017.
He was born in Lexington County, SC and was a son of the late Johnny and Mattie Clamp Crapps.
Mr. Crapps was a Veteran of World War II serving as a Corporal in the United States Marine Corps, he was a Supervisor for the Greenwood Mills Weave Room 15, and a member of Fairview Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Farmer Crapps of the home; his son, James “Bud” Travis Crapps (Barbara); his daughter, Kippie Avinger (Wayne); his stepson, Michael Long (Polly); a brother Harry Crapps (Lois); three sisters, Alice Hunnicutt, Lucy Hall, and Mrytle Baughman; a stepson-in-law, Tommy Banks; he has eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Mr. Crapps is predeceased by his first wife, Willie Ruth Crapps, a stepdaughter, Karen Banks, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 5 at 2 PM at Fairview Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends, Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Fairview Baptist Church, c/o Patsy Deitz, 814 Fairview Church Road, Kinards, SC 29355 or the Laurens County Cancer Association.
