James W. Dees Jr.

James W. Dees, Jr., age 63, of Newberry, passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021, at his home.
He was born November 6, 1957 in Fort Jackson and was a son of the late Staff Sergeant James W. (Sonny) Dees, Sr. and the late Clara Baldwin Dees. He was an auctioneer; and also worked in the Laurens and Newberry Walmart stores. Mr. Dees was the owner of Dees’ Flowers, Frames & Gifts in Newberry. He was a member of The Masters Baptist Church.
He is survived by his sisters, Bonnie Gresham (Darrell) of Whitmire, Debora Starnes of Kinards, and Diane Capaz (Tony) of N. Augusta; niece, Brandy Gresham (Kisha); nephew, Bryan Gresham (Vanessa); and great-niece, Malia Gresham.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Swofford.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 16, 2021, 5pm at The Masters Baptist Church with Rev. Todd Johnson officiating.
