James Wade Goodman, 96, husband of Betty Harris Goodman, passed away Friday, January 21, 2022, at Self Regional Healthcare.
He was born July 4, 1925 in Mountville and was a son of the late Samuel Brooks and Nellie Miller Goodman.
James graduated from Mountville High school and was a 1950 Clemson graduate.
He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the Naval Air Force. After returning, he was a rural mail carrier for many years and was the owner of Goodman Insurance Company in Clinton.
James was a lifetime member of Mountville Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter, Linda Goodman Hunter; his sons, James Wade Goodman, Jr. (Linda Ann), and Barry Lewis Goodman (Tammy). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Christopher Scott Crowder (Elizabeth), Brian Heath Crowder (Mary), Lynn Goodman Miner (Paul), Adam Chandler Goodman, and Emily Grace Goodman; step-grandchildren, Jennifer Kirven Lovett (Scott), and Jordan Kirven; eight great-grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by two sisters, and two brothers.
A Private Family Service will take place later this week.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Laurens County Memorial Home, 3744 Torrington Rd, Laurens, SC or Mountville Presbyterian Church.
