Mr. Murray was self-employed.
He was born in Spartanburg and was the son of James William Murray, Sr. and Madelyn “Chi-Chi” Burkhalter.
He is survived by his wife Anita Taylor Murray; his son Jacob Murray; his daughters Brittany Powell (RJ) of Iva, SC and Amber Hughes (Brandon Wilson) of Gray Court; his brother DJ Pruitt and two grandchildren, Jay and Mikey Powell,
He was predeceased by his sister Angie Murray.
Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
