James Aaron Peay

James Aaron Peay, age 92, of Whitmire, SC, husband of Omega Knight Peay passed away, Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at NHC of Clinton.
He was born May 13, 1930 in Whitmire, SC, and was a son of the late Durwood and Nancy Darby Peay.
Mr. Peay was a Veteran of the US Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 70. He was a loving husband, father, and the World’s Greatest Papa.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, Mr. Peay is survived by his daughter, Karon Peay Owens (Boyd); his grandchildren, Kyle Owens (Brooke), and Megan Owens; his great-grandchildren, Allie Owens, Jamey Owens, and Cason Owens.
Mr. Peay was predeceased by a son Aaron Kirkland “Kirk” Peay, and was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 PM, Sunday, July 17, 2022 from the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire with Rev. Mark Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2-3 PM at the funeral home.
