James "Pop" E. Sumner

James “Pop” E. Sumner, age 74, passed away Sunday, September 17, 2023 at his home.
He was born April 10, 1949, in Union, SC and was the son of the late Marion Jefferson Sumner and the late Savannah Bell Shaw Sumner. He was a former Textile employee, a Residential Painter, and Diesel Mechanic. James loved to hunt, fish, and raise chickens.
Mr. Sumner is survived by his wife of 52 years, Pam Sumner of the home; his children, Chris Sumner of the home, April Alexander (Jerry) of Whitmire, and Daisy Chrisley of Chapin; ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and his sister, Vivian Long of Newberry.
In addition to his parents Mr. Sumner is preceded in death by an infant son and three sisters, Judy Wise, Ruth Hamilton, and Lillie Mae Samples.
Services will be held at a later date.
Gray Funeral Home of Clinton is assisting the Sumner Family with services.
