James Harold Woody

 James Harold Woody, age 89, of Clinton, widower of Alsie Wilkie Woody, passed away, Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at his daughter’s home. 

 He was born February 26, 1935 in Clinton, SC, he was the son of the late Ottie R. Woody and Pearl Bailey Woody. James was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served as Military Police. He retired from Clinton Mills after many years of dedicated service. James was a member of Campbell Masonic Lodge and attended Holly Grove Baptist Church.

 He is survived by his daughter, Jamie Gatchell (Keith); his son, James R. Woody (Donna) of Rutledge, TN; special daughter-in-law, Mitzi Burnside-Woody; his sister, Kate Franklin of Lumberton, NC; his sister-in-law, Wanda Woody; his grandchildren, Blair Dendy, Christopher Woody (Kiarra), Daniel Dendy (Katrina), Jason Dendy (Anna), Jessica Fallaw (John Paul), Darcy Gatchell, Naomi Gatchell, and Sheryl Woody (Justin); his great-grandchildren, Cale Bunting, Eli Fallaw, Alynna Donnelly, Jaxon Donnelly, Noah Fallaw, Harmony Woody, Allyssa Jackson, Ava Bigham, Andrew Bigham, Anthony Kicklighter, Ethan James Dendy, Delilah Davis, Violet Gatchell; and his beloved niece, Mary Leitner.

 In addition to his parents and wife, James was preceded in death by his sister, Evelyn Serna and his brother, William Woody. 

 Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, January 9, 2025 at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Clinton with Rev. Scott Hines officiating. Burial will follow at Pinelawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.

 The family will be at the home of his daughter, 313 Finney Drive, Clinton, SC 29325.
