James B. Deason, age 77 passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center in Laurens.
He was born in Talladega, AL on Aug. 17, 1934 a son of the late Fred and Emma Pierce Deason.
Mr. Deason was a veteran of both the Navy and Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict and two tours in Vietnam. He retired from his military service to his country after 22 years, after his retirement from service he worked at 3M and GE.
Mr. Deason is survived by three children, Danny Deason of Laurens, Kathy Redding of Lawrenceville, GA and Rodney Deason of Laurens. His close relationship to his sisters, Sadie and Nellie and brother, Paul was special. He his also survived by numerous relatives in Michigan and Georgia.
He was preceded in death by a forth child, Linda Adams in 2006 and his brother, Joe, also James’s best friend and pet for 19 years “Yam” in 2010.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, March 17th at 10:00 a.m. cryptside at the Forest Lawn Cemetery by Rev. Dr. Russell Dean.
In lieu of flowers, the family requested donations be made to the Martha Franks Baptist Retirement Center, 1 Martha Franks Dr., Laurens, SC 29360.
