James Calvin Bledsoe, 75 passed away Saturday, March 24th which was also his and Ellen’s 50th Wedding Anniversary.
He was born in Saluda County and was a son of the late Jessie Otis and Olivia Turner Bledsoe.
Calvin was a US Army veteran and member of the Cornerstone Baptist Church. He was a former employee of the Greenville News circulation department and worked as a funeral attendant with Gray Funeral Home for over 30 years.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Ellen Marina Mellard Bledsoe; sons, James “Skeeter” Bledsoe and wife, Susan of Greenwood, Allen Bledsoe and wife, Denise of Albertville, AL and David Bledsoe and wife, Cari of Athens, AL; grandchildren, Michael Bledsoe and wife, Heather, Joshua Bledsoe and wife Staci, Ariel Bledsoe , Madison and Lauren Bledsoe; one brother, O. Narvin Bledsoe of Edgefield; two sisters, Ruth Cumbie and husband, Harold of Ridge Springs and Ora “Tammy” Screws and husband, Wade of Graniteville and a sister-in-law, Pearlious M. Bledsoe.
He was predeceased by his brothers, Harold G. Bledsoe and Albert Denver Bledsoe and two infant sisters.
Graveside services will be conducted Monday, March 26th at 3:00 p.m. at the Pinelawn Memory Gardens by Rev. Wayne Morgan.
The family will receive friends before the graveside service at Gray Funeral Home, Monday from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. .
