James Donald Lance, age 62, of 211 Burnt Factory Road died Thursday, Mar. 22nd at his home.
He was born April 12, 1944 in Clinton, SC. He was the son of the late Cecil and Mary Hall Lance and the grandson of the late William and Armilda Raxter Lance. He was the husband of Mary Beth Lamb Lance.
Mr. Lance was the owner and operator of Anchor Fish Company in Enoree, SC. He was a member of Cross Anchor Yarbourgh United Methodist Church.
He is survived by two daughters and special sons-in-law, Donna “Sissy” and Michael Jones of Anderson, Alesia and Scott Godfrey of Enoree; two grandsons who he loved very much, Will and Lance Godfrey of Enoree; one brother, William “Billy” Lance of Travelers Rest, SC; and a sister, Margaret Cantrell of Woodruff, SC.
Mr. Lance was predeceased by two sisters, Thelma Miller and Betty Stewart.
Graveside services will be held Sunday, March 25th at 3:00 p.m. at Cross Anchor Yarbourgh United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by the Rev. Walter Forrester and Chaplain Daniel E. Compton. Pallbearers will be Jim Piotrowsky, Sam Turner, Terry Lanford, Jack Glenn, Eddie Lance and Herman Mason.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of Laurens County, P.O. Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325 or to Cross Anchor Yarbourgh Methodist Church, P.O. Box 98, Cross Anchor, SC 29331.
The family is the home at 211 Burnt Factory Road in Cross Anchor.
