James Edward Lyda

James Edward Lyda, age 63, of 493 Leesville Church Rd. died Friday, June 3rd at the Hospice House of Lauren’s County.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late Charlie and Clara Brock Lyda.
Mr. Lyda was a former employee of Wal-Mart Distribution Center with 21 years of service, and a U.S. Army veteran serving in Germany during the Vietnam era.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Joyce Manley Lyda of the home; one daughter, Jennifer Lyda of the home; one granddaughter, Vivian Rose Lyda; one brother Ronnie Lydie and wife, Jan of Fountain Inn.
He was predeceased by three sisters, Shirley McLendon, Betty Shepard, and Lib Smith; and one brother, Jessie B. Lyda.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
