James Harvey Austin, Sr.

James Harvey Austin, Sr., age 88, of 801 Musgrove St., died Wednesday, May 10th at the Presbyterian Home.
He was born in Charlotte, NC and was the son of the late Wade Hampton Austin and Minnie Elizabeth Harvey Austin.
He was a former member of the First Presbyterian Church in Greenville, South Carolina. After serving in World War II, he spent his professional career in the heating and air conditioning business. He was retired from Anderson Technical College, and was a member and former president of the Lions club. He enjoyed whistling and was an avid bird enthusiast especially enjoyed mimicking bird calls.
He is survived by three sisters-in-law, seven nephews and three nieces.
He was predeceased by his wife of 66 years, Elizabeth Reid Austin; a son, James Harvey Austin, Jr.; four brothers, Ernest Hampton Austin, Charles Clarence Austin, Bernard Austin,
Walton Jennings Austin and one infant sister, Elizabeth Austin.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the Presbyterian Home Chapel in Clinton. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the Greenville Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Donalds, S. C.
