James H. Stone, age 69 of 4-D Spring St.., and widower of Katie Ammons Stone, died Wednesday. May 24th at his home.
He was born in Whitmire and was a son of the late Homer and Erin Chapman Stone.
He was a retired employee of Cone Mills.
Surviving are one son, Carl Michael Stone of Whitmire, one daughter, Karen Diana Stone of the home, two brothers, Gene Stone of Whitmire and Melvin Stone of Union; five sisters, Bertha Malpass of Greenwood, Pearl Kinard and Sherline Crumpton both of Whitmire, Helen Coffey of Newberry and Frankie Altman of Prosperity, three granddaughters, Amanda Crumbley, Suzane Stone and Stanley Stone and a special friend, Betty Livingston of Pomaria.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 4:00 p.m. at Pine Ridge Baptist Church with burial in Lee Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home.
