James “Jimmy” Cooper, age 61, of 426 Browning Ave. died Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at the National HealthCare of Clinton.
He was born in Lancaster, SC, and was a son of Mildred Wade Cooper of Panama City, FL and the late Calvin Asa Cooper.
Jimmy was a former employee of Clinton Mills. He enjoyed coaching Dixie Youth Baseball at the YMCA. He also loved tennis and golf. He was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Marilyn McLean Cooper of the home; a son, James Michael Cooper and Anna of Joanna; a daughter, Melissa Blair Cooper of Clinton; two brothers Reverend Charles D. Cooper and wife Blair of Florence and Francis A. Cooper and wife Jane of Little River. One sister, Rebecca Crogan and husband Richard of Panama City, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted Friday, May 6, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Joanna by Father Francisco Cruz.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the home, 426 Browning Avenue, Joanna, SC.
