James "J.M." Brewington

James M. “J.M.” Brewington, age 82, of 60 Adams Drive, widower of Geneva Brewington, passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the Hospice Care of the Piedmont in Greenwood, SC.
He was born in Spartanburg County, and was the son of the late James B. Brewington and Irene Lawson Brewington Easley.
Mr. Brewington retired from Clinton Mills, was of the Baptist faith, and loved hunting and fishing.
Surviving are one son, Randall Ellis Brewington of Rutherfordton, NC; one daughter, Kathy Hollingsworth and husband, Billy of Greenwood; two brothers, Ellis Ray Brewington of Ware Shoals and Raymond P. Brewington of Honea Path; two sisters, Inez Crawford of Greenwood, Shirley Griffin of Clinton; a granddaughter, Kathy Leigh Cribb and husband, Andy of Greenwood and grandson, Tony Jennings and wife, Martina of Candler, NC; two step daughters, Shirley Doolittle of Laurens, Cecil Estisito of Augusta, GA and a stepson, Jack Lanford of Laurens.
Mr. Brewington was predeceased by a sister, Hazel Vaughn.
A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 8th at 2:00 p.m. at Pinelawn Memory Gardens by Rev. Charles Brewington.
The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
Active pallbearers will be Ray Brewington, Tony Jennings, Sammy Hollingsworth, Terry Brewington, Shawn Brewington and Gabe Padgett.
The family will be at the home of a special niece, Pat Petty, at 73 Adams Drive in Ware Shoals, SC.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Care of the Piedmont at 408 Alexander Avenue, Greenwood, SC 29646.
