Dateline-Laurens, SC
James Lewis Bishop, age 75, of NHC Laurens and the widower of Ruby Deadwyler Bishop died Friday, April 14, 2006 at Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Laurens and was son of the late Lewis and Vader Taylor Bishop.
Mr. Bishop was a retired employee of Bedenbaugh and was a member of Lydia Mill Church of God.
Surviving are sons, Eddie Bishop of Laurens, John Henry Deadwyler and Danny Ray Deadwyler; daughter, Susan Manley of Greenwood; fifteen grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he is predeceased by a son, Frank Deadwyler; two sisters, Louise Galloway and Ruth Rascoe; twin brother, Charles Bishop and brothers, Raymond and Ryland Taylor.
A graveside service will be conducted, Monday, April 17th at 10:00 a.m. in the Laurens City Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be at the home of his grandson, Jason Bishop, 703 Lucas Ave., Laurens.
