James Shannon Motes was thirty-seven years old when he passed away on Saturday, March 26, 2011. A native of Clinton, SC he last called Columbia home. He was a graduate of Midlands Technical College and was a healthcare professional.
Shannon is survived by his parents, James and Deborah Motes of Silverstreet, SC; brother, Joshua Motes of Nashville, TN; paternal grandmother Nellie G. Motes of Clinton, SC; long-time friends Lisa and Scott Zeruth, of the home in Columbia; beloved Chihuahua ChiChi and many more extended family and friends.
Shannon is predeceased by his maternal grandparents Jim and Elsie Henry and paternal grandfather James Motes, Sr.
It is agreed that Shannon was loved by many and touched the hearts of all those that he came in contact.
The family would like to extend a very special appreciation to all of the nursing staff that took part in his care at Palmetto Health Richland Hospital, specifically the Medical Oncology unit.
The family would also like to make a very special and public thank you to Lisa and Scott Zeruth who showed undying love to Shannon over the last years of his life. It was very evident that Shannon loved both of you so very much and we thank you for being apart of this life.
