James Theodore “Ted” Mills
Ted Mills, age 70, died Wednesday, November 23,2011 at Laurens County Hospital after a year’s valiant battle with lung disease.
Ted was born in Ellenboro, N.C., on February 12, 1941, to Samuel and Lorena Mills and grew up in Shelby N.C.
After graduating from N.C. State and serving in the U. S. Army, Ted held various management positions in textile or textile related industries including Celanese, Reeves Brothers, Asten Press, and Greenwood Mills.
Ted was a talented wood carver who made incredible carved carousel animals for his daughter and grandchildren, whom he loved very much.
Ted is survived by his wife, Lynda Smith Mills of the home, their daughter, Angela Mills Sims and son-in-law Bradford Lewis Sims, granddaughter Zoey Elizabeth Sims, and grandson, Sheperd Mills Sims, of Charleston, West Virginia.
A loving family memorial was held at the James E. Smith Family Cemetery in Chesterfield, S.C., on Saturday, November 26, 2011.
