James Walter Dallas

James Walter Dallas age 93 of 203 Bennett Street, died Saturday, October 11, 2008 in the Oakmont Nursing Home.
He was born in Newberry County and was the son of the late Alvin T. and Lucy Carpenter Dallas.
Mr. Dallas was retired from J.P. Stevens in Whitmire and was a member of the Whitmire United Methodist Church.
He is survived by a daughter, Pat Hendrix and husband, Earl of Union; a brother, David Dallas of Ocala, FL; four grandchildren, Kim West and husband Chris of Roebuck, Kevin Hendrix and wife Heather of Union, Sherry Stevens and husband Richie of Whitmire, and Jimmy Dallas and wife Laura of Rock Hill; and ten great grandchildren, Hannah West, Tana West, Garris Hendrix, Haleigh Hendrix, Jonathan Stevens, Chelsey Stevens, Casey Stevens, Meredith Dallas, Hunter Dallas, and Makayla Dallas.
Mr. Dallas was predeceased by a son, Sherrill Dallas.
Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, October 13th at 2:00 p.m. in the Whitmire United Methodist Church with interment in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
