Jane Burns Brown

Jane Burns Brown, of Martha Franks Retirement Center, Laurens, SC, and widow of John Milton Brown, Jr., died Tuesday, August 19, 2014.
She was born in Greenville and was a daughter of the late William Harold and Evelyn Mackey Burns.
Mrs. Brown retired from employment with Dr. Malcolm B. Cook and Cecil Y. Brown medical profession. She was a member of Second Baptist Church and a member of the Ruth Bible Sunday School Class.
She is survived by a son, John William Brown (Patti) of Laurens; three daughters, Lynn B. Harris (Barney) of Pawley’s Island, Rosemary B. Workman of Myrtle Beach, and Donna B. Ledbetter (Darrell) of Shelby, NC; a sister, Pat B. Parsons of Pelzer; eight grandchildren, Benjy Brown, Matt Brown, Hal Harris, Mackey Harris, Caroline Workman, Meyer Workman, Darren Ledbetter, and Deanna Ledbetter; and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown was predeceased by a granddaughter, Julie Lynn Harris.
Memorial services will be held at Martha Franks Chapel on Wednesday, August 20, 2014, at 2:00 pm.
The family will be at the home of Bill Brown, 549 Westwood Dr., Laurens, SC 29360.
