Dateline-Cross Anchor, SC
Jane Clayton Lamb Sulton, of 12075 Hwy 56 and widow of Jacob Daniel Sulton, Jr., passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at the Hospice House of Laurens County.
She was born in Cross Anchor, SC on August 2, 1941 to James Clayton Lamb and Mary Woodruff Lamb. Jane graduated from Woodruff High School, Mars Hill College, and University of South Carolina, and taught at Clinton Elementary School for most of her 38-year teaching career. She was a former member of New Hope Baptist Church, Cross Anchor, SC; and a current member of Padgett’s Creek Baptist Church, Union, SC.
Surviving are her sister, Polly Lamb Baker; brother, James Charley Lamb; nephew, William Stanley Brant, Jr. (Lucie); niece, Dr. Elizabeth Jane Brant; great-nephew, Capt. William Stanley Brant, III, of the U.S. Army; and great-niece, Rachel Elizabeth Brant.
Graveside services will be conducted Friday, June 13, 2014, at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Cross Anchor, SC, at 11:00 AM.
The family will receive friends Thursday at Gray Funeral Home of Clinton from 7:00 to 9:00 PM.
