Janie Lee Brown, age 71 of 144 Pettus Lane, died Sunday, May 28th in the Wallace Thomson Hospital in Union after an extended illness.
She was born in Buffalo and was the daughter of the late Homer Grist and Nellie Gray Brewington Barnett.
Mrs. Brown was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Whitmire.
Surviving are two daughters and a son-in-law, Kathy and Frank Prather of Newberry and Teresa Brown of Whitmire; five brothers, Paul Barnett, Jerry Barnett, Donald Barnett, Ronald Barnett and Ronnie Barnett; two sisters, Frances Owens and Faye Faircloth; three grandsons, Michael C. Keith, Jeremy W. Alexander and Robert G. Alexander and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 2:00p.m. in the Friendship Bapitst Church with burial in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home in Whitmire.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be amde to the Friendship Baptist Church , Duckett St., Whitmire, SC 29178.
