Jc "One Gut" Childress

J.C. “One Gut” Childress, age 84, of 206 Missallie Drive, passed away Monday, April 24, 2017 at NHC of Clinton.
He was born in Laurens County, was the son of the late John Crateman and Lu Della Bolt Childress.
Mr. Childress was retired from the Clinton Mills, Bailey Plant after 45 years of service, and was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Clinton.
He is survived by his wife, Vera Barnett Childress of the home, his daughter, Gretchen Childress Whiting (Bobby) of Prosperity; his two granddaughters, Heather and Kristen Whiting of Prosperity; two nephews Wayne Womble of Clinton and Johnny Harmon of Greenville; two nieces, Susan Austin of Clinton and Carolyn Barbary of Laurens.
Graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 3 PM at Pinelawn Memory Gardens, the family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the Gray Funeral Home of Clinton.
