Jean Kaylor Willard, 95, resident of Cross Hill, SC, widow of Walter Gordon Willard, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at home.
Born December 13, 1927, in Henryville, Clark County, IN, she was a daughter of the late Joseph Franklin Kaylor and Evelyn May Dull. She was a graduate of the University of Maryland, belonged to the Tri Delta sorority, and retired from the Franklin, MA school system. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was a member of The First Church of Christ, Scientist. Jean was known for her love of reading, genealogy, Arabian horses and the sciences. Her strength and faith sustained her during times of struggle and uncertainty.
Surviving is son Walter Joseph Willard (Walt) and daughter-in-law Claire Betsy Hamanaka of Cross Hill, SC; son Kirstan Gordon Willard (Kirt) and daughter-in-law Bonnie Halleran of South Lake Tahoe, CA, grandson Joshua Kirt Willard and grand-daughter-in-law Maralisa Haber-Willard, great-grandson Bodhi Quinn Willard of Portland, OR; grand-daughter Katie (Barnes) Younan and grandson-in-law Joseph Younan (Joe), great grand-daughter Grace Jean Younan, great-grandson Hank Stanley Younan, and great grand-daughter Savannah Violet Younan of Huntington Beach, CA; grandson Jesse Willard Barnes of Escondido, CA; daughter Trude Kaylor Willard, grand-daughter Krystal Ann Lanagan Martinez, and great-grandson Deakon Craig Willard of San Antonio, TX.
In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her half-sister, Ginger Marlatt; son Craig Warner Willard, and daughter Kristie Jean Kaylor Willard, and grand-daughters Erin Jean Willard and Heather Ellen Willard.
A private burial will be held at Resthaven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.
Gray Funeral Home of Clinton is assisting the Willard family with arrangements.
