Jean Vaughan Cannon

Jean Vaughan Cannon, husband of Georgia Y. Cannon, died July 4, 2006, at his home in Clinton. He was born in Spartanburg and was the son of the late W.S. and Irlene V. Cannon. He was a lifelong railroader and was before his illness, the builder and operator of the Brushy Creek and Southern Railroad, a miniature park train railroad at The Pavilion in the Greenville County Recreation District Park in Taylors. He was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clinton, the Greenville Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society and other Railway organizations.
Mr. Cannon is survived by his wife, Georgia Y. Cannon of the home; a step-daughter, Bee Young of Clinton; a son, William and a grandson, Nicolas, both of Spartanburg. He also leaves one brother, William S. Cannon of Clinton and two nephews, William C. Cannon of Clinton and Lawrence A. Cannon of Kathleen, GA.
Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the First Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Clinton with Dr. Thomas A. Stallworth officiating.
The family will be at the home, 105 East Calhoun St., Clinton.
