Jimmy Thomas Mitchell, age 55, of 422 W. Richardson Circle, Hartsville, formerly of Laurens, died Friday, March 8, 2013 in Florence, SC.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of Edna “Randy” Townsend, of Laurens, and the late Harold Mitchell, of Laurens.
He was a former employee of Duke Energy and was a Mason.
He is survived by his wife, Shelly W. Mitchell, of the home, and his daughter, December Leigh Mitchell, and fiancé, Timothy R. Smith, of New Hope, PA; one brother, Jerry Ray Mitchell, of Laurens; two sisters, Gail M. Bouknight and husband Rick, and Gwen Bolt and husband Danny, both of Laurens; two nieces, Tracy Grigsby, of Del Rio, TN, and Leighann Martinez, of Laurens; three nephews, Forest T. White, of Laurens, A.J. Mitchell, of Laurens, and Victor Mitchell, of Laurens; four great nieces, Jaycie Langston, of Del Rio, TN, Elizabeth Martinez, of Laurens, Addison Martinez, of Laurens, and Jaidyn White, of Simpsonville; two great nephews, Blake Dunaway, of Laurens, and Cameron White, of Simpsonville; and numerous cousins.
He was predeceased by his nephew, Bill W. White.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, at 2:00 p.m. at St. James United Methodist Church, in Laurens.
