Jimmy "J.R." Rogers

Jimmy “J.R.” Rogers, age 65 of 225 Susan Lynn Dr. died Friday, Jan. 4, 2008 at the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Greenville County and was a son of the late James F. and Blanche Lucille Edwards Rogers.
Mr. Rogers was retired from the U.S. Army and presently was employed with Papps Iron Works; he was a former employee of Fluor Daniel Construction and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Marcie McKinney Rogers of the home; two sons, Norman Leister and Virgil Leister both of Travelers Rest; a daughter, Tracey Rowland and husband, Scott of Greer; four brothers, Steve Rogers and wife, Shirley of Taylors, Gary Rogers of Greer, Carroll Rogers and wife, Diane of Greer, Danny Rogers of Honea Path; a special aunt, Emma Fisher of Campobello, eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Billy Rogers and a sister, Ann Rogers.
Funeral service will be conducted Sunday, Jan. 6th at 3:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens with burial in Westview Memorial Park with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
