Joe Calvin Foster, age 80, of 105 Teakwood Drive, passed away Friday, January 2, 2014 in the Laurens County Hospital.
He was born in Woodruff and was a son of the late Fred and Minnie Foster.
Mr. Foster attended Clemson University for one year before transferring to Spartanburg Methodist College where he graduated. He was a former owner and operator of Foster Tool and Supply. He was a member of Davidson Street Baptist Church; a 40 year member of Lakeside Country Club and a member of Rolling” S” Golf Course. Joe was also an Assistant Scout Master of Scout Troop 111. He served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Mildred Foster of the home; his son, David Jody Foster (Tina) of Joanna; his grandchildren, Justin Calvin Foster, Austin Foster, Caleb Foster and Christian Foster; and his sister, Ann West of Columbia.
He was predeceased by his brother, Fred Earl Foster.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 4th at 4:00 PM in the Davidson Street Baptist Church with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon, from 2 to 4 PM at the Church.
