Joe William “Dub” Shockley, age 75 of 612 Little Acre Rd. died Saturday, March 10, 2012 at his home.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Ida Mae Keasler Shockley.
He was retired from Clinton Mills a Loom Fixer Trainer, he then worked for the Laurens County Public Works. He attended the Believers Assembly Church was a US Army veteran and a former volunteer with the Hospice Thrift Store.
Surviving are his wife Shirley Samples Shockley of the home; two daughters; Nancy Shockley McMinn and Theo Rice of Clinton, Teresa Shockley Reece and Stan Crowe of Laurens; one brother, Joseph William Shockley of Gray Court; five grandchildren, Ashley Eubanks, Jeffrey Reece, Josh Eubanks, Kyle Reece and Gina Clevenger and two great grandchildren, Addye Bouslay and Jeffrey Reece.
He was predeceased by ten brothers and sisters; Alice Thompson, George Shockley, Walt Shockley, Frank Shockley, Sally Sherfield, Jean Campbell, Beulah Avery, Bo Shockley, Jackie Shockley and Patricia Shockley.
Graveside services will be conducted Tuesday, Mar. 13th at 4:00 p.m. by Rev. Mike Campbell with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
