Dateline – Clinton, SC
John Joseph (Burts) Herron, Sr., age 80, and widower of Frances Sheppard Herron, died Friday, May 17, 2013 in the Hospice House of Laurens County.
He was a retired plumber from Ralph Mathis Plumbing Co. in Greenwood. Mr. Herron was a Church of God member, served in the National Guard, and was a Shriner.
He is survived by his son, John J. Herron, Jr., and wife, Sylvia of Cross Hill; a daughter, Dianne H. Deadwyler of Cross Hill; two brothers, Owen Herron, and Heber Herron both of Aiken; four sisters, Lottie Snipes, Mary Ann Lynes, Myrtis Johnson, and Barbara Britt, all of Aiken; four grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by three brothers, one sister, and a grandson, John William Herron.
Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 21st, at 3:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pinelawn Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 to 7 p.m.
