John Earl McCalla, age 69, of 4018 Old Spartanburg Hwy, and a long time resident of Laurens. Passed away Monday, August 11, 2014 at his home.
He was born in Columbia, SC and was a son of the late Allen and Lucille Conder McCalla.
Mr. McCalla was retired from St. Joe Paper Company; was an avid hunter and fisherman, and most importantly a loving father and grandfather.
He is survived by his son Brian McCalla of Greenville; his daughter Tara Sides of Cinicinnati, OH; three grandchildren, Briana, Evan and Ella; and two sisters Ann McCalla of Florence and Kay Pierson of Darlington.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Open Arms Hospice, McCall House, 1836 W Georgia Road, Simpsonville, SC.
