John C. Cooper

November 12, 1921 — October 11, 2007

John C. Cooper, age 85 of 603 Bailey Street, died Thursday Oct. 11th in the Westside Living Center in Greenville.
He was born in Ware Shoals, SC and was a son of the late Clifton and Sarah Reeves Cooper.
Mr. Cooper was retired from Clinton Mills and was a member of Clinton City Council from 1988-1996. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and was an Army Veteran of WWII. He also was a member and Past Master of the Campbell Masonic Lodge # 44 and the Hejaz Shrine Temple.
He is survived by two sons, Steve Cooper of Clinton and Billy Ray Hyde of Greenwood; a daughter, Donna Simmons of Clinton, one brother, Jessie Cooper of Laurens; two sisters, Margaret Crain of Greenwood and Geraldine Carithers of Anderson; thirteen grandchildren; and many great and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conduced Sunday at 3:00 p.m. in the Gray Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will be the home at 603 Bailey Street in Clinton.
