John Thomas Holmes

John T. Holmes of Miami, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday October 27, 2010 at Integris Baptist Regional Health Center in Miami, Oklahoma. He was 82.
Mr. Holmes was born December 5, 1927 in Enoree, South Carolina to Claude F. and Jeanette (Stoner) Holmes. He graduated from Woodruff High School in South Carolina and Served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He had lived in Miami since 1966 moving from South Carolina. He was a manager at Belk, Hub and S&K Men wear. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Miami, Oklahoma.
He married Sarah R. (Nelson) Holmes on June 12, 1949 in Fountain Inn, South Carolina and she survives of the home. Also surviving are two sons, James C. and wife Teresa Holmes of Republic, MO. and Keith T. and wife Sherry Holmes of Cedartown, GA.; 7 grandchildren and 8greatgrandchildren . He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Jack Holmes and a sister Virginia Lamb.
Graveside services will be Thursday November 4, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lanford First Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be expressed to the family at www.grayfuneralhome.com .
