Jolene Sparks Postol, age 80, formerly of Laurens and the widow of Mitchell Lewis Postol, passed away, Friday, August 23, 2024 at her home in Richmond Hill, Georgia.
She was born in Whitmire, South Carolina and was the daughter of the late
Clyde Martin Sparks and Lenora Johnson Sparks. She was a graduate of Whitmire High School, North Greenville Junior College and the University of South Carolina. Jolene worked as an administrative assistant at Whitten Center and Presbyterian College. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Laurens and the Clinton-Laurens-Newberry Tennis Association. She loved playing and watching tennis but especially spending time with her children and grandchildren.
Jolene is survived by her sons, Jon Jenkins (Donya) of Whitmire, Mitch Postol (Stephanie) of Boiling Springs, Mart Postol (Elizabeth) of Watkinsville, GA; her daughter, Lenlee Bodie (Brandon) of Richmond Hill, GA; her brother, Ken Sparks (Linda) of Clinton; her sister, Deborah King (Mike) of Whitmire and her special eleven grandchildren, Kailey, Will, Mikhail, Peyton, Olivia, Trip, Makenna, Rebecca, Ariana, Sydney and Jon-Michael.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, August 30, 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Whitmire First Baptist Church. Burial will follow at the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, August 29, 2024 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at the Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire.
