Joseph Earl Patterson, age 66 of 402 Carolyn Dr. and husband of Ralphine Estes Patterson, died Thursday, Nov. 16th at his home.
He was born in Laurens County and was a son of the late William Andrew (Bill) Patterson and the late Irene Tinsley Patterson.
Mr. Patterson was a member of the Davidson St. Baptist Church where he was a member of the Floyd Hellams Sunday School Class, served as a Greeter, chairman of Ushers, and a Trustee. He was also a member of the Campbell Masonic Lodge #44.
Before retiring from Michelin Tire Laurens Proving Grounds, he had been a Laurens County Deputy Sheriff for 11 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by a daughter, Laurie Johnson and husband Glen of Myrtle Beach; three sons, Charles Carson (Chuck) Sauls and wife Laurie of Greenwood, Rondall Joseph (Jodie) Sauls of Clinton, Michael Scott Patterson and wife Cindy of Clinton; one sister, Juanita Chestein Bell and husband Tony of Greenwood; one brother, James Larry Patterson and wife Ann of Townville; eight grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and a special family, Kevin and Patricia Kwarsick.
He was preceded in death by a brother, William Mooney Patterson.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, Nov. 19th at 3:00 p.m. in the Davidson St. Baptist Church with burial in the Pinelawn Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
