Joseph H. Edge

Joseph H. Edge, age 92 of 1 Martha Franks Dr., died Thursday, September 10, 2009 in the Greenville Memorial Hospital. He was born in Moore, SC and was a son of the late John Wyatt Lee and Alice Powers Edge. Mr. Edge was co-owner of Byars Machine Company, a former Mason and a Past Potentate of the Hejaz Shrine Temple. He also was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Laurens and the Methodist Men’s Club, as well as, a member of the Martha Franks Singers and the Lakeside Country Club. Surviving are his wife, Helen Byars Edge of the home; a son, Larry Edge and wife, Fay of Laurens; a daughter, Sharon Stringer and husband, Bill of Liberty; a sister, Virginia Collins of Woodruff and a grandson, Allen Thompson of Columbia. A private family graveside service will be conducted Saturday, Sept. 12th at 10:30 a.m. in the Nazareth Presbyterian Church Cemetery.
