Judith Joanne Wells Warfield

September 10, 1941 — March 26, 2022

Judy was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus early morning Saturday, March 26, 2022.
Born in Detroit, MI and raised in Greenville, SC, Judy lived a full, beautiful life glorifying God through love and service to others. Judy spent many faithful years serving as a leader in organizations such as Kairos Prison Ministry, Girl Scouts, church, and civic associations, while impacting countless lives for God’s Kingdom. Affectionately referred to as “mom number two” by many, Judy spent her life reading her Bible, listening, giving advice, cooking, and praying for others. Judy never met a stranger and accepted all for who they were.
Judy is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Robert M Warfield; daughters Susan Sonnier (Chris), and Holly Mayers (Joshua); grandchildren Cassidy Herbert (Sergei), Ainsley Sonnier, Jonathan Mayers, James Mayers, Catherine Mayers, and her sister Margaret Lee (Richard).
Judy is worshiping around the throne of God with some of her favorite people including her parents, Robert Wells, Irene Kauranen and Frances Wells; her older sister Beverly Day (Gary), her younger brother Edwin Wells, and her sweet grandson Jacob Sonnier along with many other special friends and loved ones who proceeded her.
A celebration of Judy’s life will be held at 11 AM Saturday, April 2, 2022, at Whitmire First Baptist Church in Whitmire, SC.
In lieu of flowers, the family encourages donations in her name to a charitable organization of your choice. A few of Judy’s favorite organizations are: Kairos Prison Ministry International Foundation Inc. at 100 Debary Plantation Blvd, Debary, FL 32713; Cancer Society of Greenville County at 113 Mills Avenue, Greenville, SC 29605; Whitmire First Baptist Church Missions Program at 173 Glenn St. Whitmire, SC 29178.

Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire is assisting the family with arrangements.
