Julian Lee Wilson,65, of 2176 Longview Road passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at Self Regional Medical Center. He was proud to say he was born in Rocky Bottom, SC and was the son of Lillie Mae Gheen of Ninety Six and the late Edgar Lee Wilson of Pickens.
Julian retired from the Clinton-Newberry Natural Gas Authority as shop foreman in 2012 after 28 years of service. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cross Hill, SC. Julian was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, hike in the mountains and work in his yard. He had a work ethic and love for family that inspired all who knew him. He greeted everyone with his contagious smile and always had a funny story to keep you entertained.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marian Courtney Wilson of the home, a son Jay Wilson (Tanya) of Clinton, Jeremy Wilson (Jennifer) of Mooresville , NC, four grandchildren, Hannah, Cade, Davis and Luke, a sister, Barbara Jean Wilson of Gray Court and his beloved mother-in-law, Ardis Courtney of Ninety Six. He was also pre-deceased by a sister, Ellen Gail Hendricks.
A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at First Baptist Church, Clinton at 5PM Thursday, April 6. The family will receive friends following the service. A private burial will be held Thursday morning in Cross Hill.
The family will be at the home of his son, Jay Wilson 502 Rowland Drive, Clinton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Laurens County, PO Box 178, Clinton, SC 29325.
