Karen Long Banks, age 60, of 303 Banna Street, passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at her home.
She was born in Joanna, SC and was a daughter of Ruby Farmer Crapps and step-father Tallie Crapps.
Mrs. Banks was a former employee of The Palmetto Bank and a member of the First Baptist Church of Clinton. She loved dogs and was actively involved with Palmetto Animal Lovers. Being an avid gardener, her love of flowers was displayed outside her home.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Banks; her son, Jeremy Banks (Heather) of Greenville; her daughter, Jennifer Adams (Austin) of Laurens; her two grandchildren, Landon Adams and Kyleigh Banks; her brother, Michael Long (Polly) of Charleston; her nieces and nephews, Whit, Olivia, and Jordan Long (Lucy Rose Long, daughter); two step-brothers, Johnny Waits of Simpsonville and Travis Crapps of Kinards; two step-sisters, Laura Hatton of Simpsonville and Kippie Avinger of Kinards.
She is predeceased by Baby Banks and her step-father William (Bill) Waits.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at 6 PM at the First Baptist Church of Clinton. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall from 4:30 to 6 PM prior to the service.
