Kate English Arrowood

Kate English Arrowood , age 89, widow of Johnny Walter Arrowood of 108 O’Dell Street passed away peacefully Saturday, December 29th at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Union, SC and was a son of the late Douglass and Ida Mae Tramell English.
Mrs. Arrowood was employed as a textile worker for many years and retired from Regal Textiles in Whitmire, SC. She was of the Baptist Faith and attended First Baptist Church in Whitmire as long as her health allowed. Mrs. Arrowood was a loving and dedicated wife of 67 years until the passing of her husband on September 1, 2012. She was also a caring and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great –great grandmother to her family.
Surviving are two sons; Rick Arrowood and wife, Pam of Whitmire and Tracy Arrowood and wife, Mary of Greenwood; grandchildren, Dennis Arrowood and wife, Pam, Tami Gilliam and husband, Billy and Miranda Arrowood all of Whitmire; great grandchildren, Ashley Arrowood, Will and Jacob Gilliam of Whitmire, Kyle Arrowood of Newberry and Raylin Vicars of Whitmire; great great grandchild, Brookellyn Arrowood of Whitmire; a special nephew, Ron English of Whitmire; a sister, Nancy Brock of Whitmire; three brothers, Mac and Tony English of Whitmire and Terry English of Union.
Mrs. Arrowood was predeceased by two sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 2, 2012 at 3:00 P.M. in the First Baptist Church of Whitmire by Rev. Shannon Long and Rev. Eddie Bledsoe and burial in the Whitmire Cemetery. Nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire.
