Kayla Smallwood Lawson

Kayla Smallwood Lawson, age 32, of Whitmire, widow of Thomas Lawson, passed away Monday, March 17, 2024, at Frecenius Kidney Care Newberry.

Kayla was born December 22, 1992 in Newberry, SC and was the daughter of Jeryle Edward Smallwood and Cynthia Dawn Peay Smallwood (Michael). She was known for her free spirit, and her deep love for her family, her son, and her nieces and nephews that she affectionately referred to as her “kids.”

Kayla is survived by her son, Daesyn Lawson; her brother, Clint Smallwood (Hannah); her sisters, Brianna Riffey (Austin Landreth), Morgan Conboy (Anthony), Shanna Riffey (Logan Jenkins), and Abby Riffey; and her nieces and nephews, Colton Landreth, Hailee Conboy, Asher Landreth, Beaux Jenkins, and Kendall Jenkins.

Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, March 23, 2025 at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Whitmire with Rev. Travis King officiating. Burial will follow at the Whitmire Cemetery.

The family will greet friends prior to the service from 2:00 - 3:00 PM at the funeral home.

Following the service the family will be at the home of her sister, Brianna Riffey, 62 Resurrection Hill, Whitmire, SC 29178.

Gray Funeral Home of Whitmire is assisting the family with services.
