Kenneth Ratliff passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, March 13, 2015, after courageously battling cancer for 12 years, surrounded by his loving family.
Ken was born and raised in Kingsport, TN. He started working at McDonalds at the young age of 14 and moved up in rank to manager, district manager, and eventually, owner/operator of McDonalds and retired from there in 2013.
He and his family moved to South Carolina in 1985.
Ken is survived by his loving wife, Katherine Whestine Ratliff, of 36 years; daughter, Priscilla Mixon and husband, Chris; son, Brandon Ratliff and wife, Gina; daughter, Shalina Mode and husband, Jason; and the loves of his life, his precious grandchildren, Geran Mixon, Ethan Mixon, Addi Darnell Ratliff, Camden Mode, Mickey Stroud, Ashlye Stroud, and Jackie Stroud. He is also survived by three brothers, Charles Ratliff and fiance, Carolyn Hicks; Anthony Ratliff; and Russell Ratliff and wife, Dallas; and three sisters, Shirley Hartsock and husband, Ronald; Pat Harvel and husband, Tommy; and Regina Williams and husband, Dallas.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Ratliff; father, John Ratliff; mother-in-law, Mattie Gilmore; brother, Johnny Ratliff; sister, Susan Bledsoe; sister-in-law, Glenda Ratliff; and several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16th, at the Pinelawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 15th, from 5 to 7 p.m.
A memorial service will be held in Kingsport, TN for Ken at Fort Robinson Baptist Church at 2012 Fort Robinson Drive, on Tuesday, March 17th, from 6 to 7 p.m.
