Lacey Albert Whitley

Lacey A. Whitley, age 91, formerly of Clinton, the Bonds Crossroads community and husband of the late Sara Osborne Whitley died Monday, Dec. 17th at the Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC.
He was a son of the late William Covington and Sarah Frances Goodwin Whitley and was born in Richmond County, NC and lived his youth in Cordova, NC.
Mr. Whitley retired from the U.S. Air Force, serving his country for over 30 years, beginning his service during WWII and retiring in 1971. Following his military retirement, he was employed with Whitten Center in Clinton from where he also retired. He was also a member of the Epworth United Methodist Church in Joanna.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Henry Whitley and Cynthia Whitley of Crystal Lake, IL; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan Whitley Hendricks and Leon Hendricks of Whittier, NC; three grandsons, Chip Hendricks and wife, Julie, Jamie Hendricks and wife, Wendy and Andrew Hendricks and five great grandchildren, Tanner, Emma, Ty, Hailey and Ryan.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, Dec. 22nd at 2:00 p.m. in the Epworth United Methodist Church with burial in the Pinelawn Memory Gardens with Military Honors.
The family will receive friends Friday, evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
