Lawrence Wilson Miller

Lawrence Wilson Miller, age 88, formerly of Whitmire, died peacefully Friday, January 11, 2013 at the Richard Campbell Veterans Nursing Home in Anderson, SC.
He was born in Lee County, Virginia and was a son of the late Lloyd and Maxie Maness Miller and was the last surviving of their seven children.
He retired after forty-five years employment with J.P. Stevens. He was a long and faithful member and Elder Emeritus of the Whitmire Presbyterian Church; a life member of the Roseboro Masonic Lodge and Hejaz Shrine Temple, and was a US Army Veteran of WWII.
Mr. Miller is survived by a daughter, Virginia Miller Dillard, and husband Michael Aughtry Dillard, Sr. of Whitmire; three grandchildren, Lauren Dillard Thigpen, and husband, Robert Matthew Thigpen, Merrie Dillard Wright, and husband, William Charles (Chad) Wright III, and Michael Aughtry Dillard, Jr, and wife, Kathryn Holbrook Dillard; and two great-grandchildren, Emily Madison Thigpen, and Olivia Lois Wright and a number of nieces and nephews; and two very special friends, Dalma Trammel, and Terri T. Baker and his lap cat Tatsie.
He was predeceased by his loving wife of forty three years, Virginia Mobley Miller.
Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, January 14th, at 3 p.m. in the Whitmire Presbyterian Church officiated by Rev. Sara Anne Berger and Rev. Dr. Steve Mays. Burial with Military Honors and Masonic Rites will follow in the Whitmire Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Monday at the church before the service from 2 to 3 p.m.
